What is NetQmon?

NetQmon is an open-source, self-hosted network monitoring and traffic analysis platform designed specifically for OpenWrt routers, homelabs, and Linux gateways.

Architecture & Core Features:

  • Lightweight eBPF Telemetry: A TC eBPF agent runs natively on OpenWrt routers (x86_64 and aarch64), capturing per-packet and per-flow statistics with near-zero gateway CPU overhead.
  • Self-Hosted Controller & Analytics: A Dockerized collector and modern web UI aggregates flows, performs deep packet inspection (DPI) application classification, and tracks client bandwidth consumption.
  • Client Device Visibility: Automatic device identity detection, MAC/IP association, real-time bandwidth consumption, and destination ASN/GeoIP telemetry.
  • Privacy & Local Data Ownership: All traffic flow records and telemetry are stored locally in your own homelab without third-party cloud leakage.
