What is NearbyShare for Linux?
Quick Share for Linux is an unofficial, open-source Linux desktop app that brings Google Nearby/Quick Share-style file sharing to Linux through a native system tray experience. It lets you discover nearby devices, send files directly over local peer-to-peer connections, and receive files without relying on cloud uploads or temporary links.
The app is built for everyday desktop use: it runs in the tray, can be shown/hidden instantly, and sends desktop notifications for transfer events. In Send mode, you select a file, discover nearby targets, and share in a few clicks. In Receive mode, your device becomes visible to nearby devices so incoming transfers can be accepted automatically (optional setting) and tracked live.
