NabuSQL information
What is NabuSQL?
NabuSQL is a native desktop database client for developers, DBAs and anyone who works with data day to day. It connects to MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite and Microsoft SQL Server from a single interface, and is built in Rust and Tauri — so the download is around 15 MB and the app starts instantly, without a bundled JVM or Electron runtime.
The core is the everyday workflow: a SQL editor with syntax highlighting, autocompletion, execution plans, formatting, query history and saved queries; a visual query builder; and a grid view for browsing, filtering and editing records directly. Structure tools cover tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes and foreign keys.
Beyond the basics, NabuSQL handles import and export in CSV, JSON, Excel and SQL, and cross-engine data transfers — moving tables, views and routines from MySQL to PostgreSQL, SQLite to MSSQL and so on. Remote databases can be reached over SSL/TLS or an SSH tunnel with key-based authentication.
An optional AI SQL assistant turns plain-language questions into SQL. It works with OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini, but also with any local OpenAI-compatible server such as Ollama — so the schema never has to leave the machine. The assistant is entirely optional; NabuSQL is fully usable without it. A Knowledge Lab module lets a local model recall knowledge built from your own query results.
The application runs completely offline, including licence validation, and there is no account, cloud sync or telemetry requirement. NabuSQL is sold as a one-time purchase with a perpetual, machine-locked licence and free updates, and ships as native packages for Windows (.exe), macOS (.dmg, Apple Silicon) and Linux (.deb, .AppImage, .rpm). A full-featured 40-day trial is available as a direct download with no registration.
NabuSQL is made by Nabukodonozor, a small engineering company from Zagreb, Croatia.
