What is Mushroom?

Mushroom is a pixel-art mushroom that sits quietly on your screen. While you're deep in work, it keeps an eye on the clock so you don't have to, and nudges you at the right moments:

  • Water reminders: gentle sips, not nagging
  • Break reminders: Mushroom notices how long you've actually been active and suggests a stretch when you need it, not on a dumb timer
  • Snack reminders: because lunch keeps mysteriously disappearing
  • Eye-strain breaks: the 20-20-20 rule, remembered for you
  • Bedtime nudge & quiet hours: no pings while you're away or winding down

Talk to your mushroom. Click Mushroom to chat. Ask "remind me in 2 hours to call Tom" in plain words and it just happens, powered by Apple Intelligence, entirely on your Mac. Every nudge arrives in Mushroom's own words, phrased fresh each time.

Kind by design. If you ignore a few reminders, Mushroom droops a little, one click cheers it right back up. No death, no guilt, no streaks to lose. It's a companion, not a taskmaster.

Private by default. Everything lives on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no analytics, nothing leaves your machine. The chat runs on Apple's on-device model, your conversations stay yours.

Small and well-behaved. Lives in your menu bar (no Dock icon), signed and notarized, updates itself. Hide the pet anytime, reminders keep working.
