What is Morok?

Morok is a private messenger built around one idea: the account belongs to the user, not to a company. There is no phone number, no email and no password — identity is an Ed25519 key pair restored from a 24-word recovery phrase, and the server never holds the secret half.

All messages are end-to-end encrypted by default (X25519, XChaCha20-Poly1305). Encryption is not a setting you turn on per chat; it is how the protocol works.

The network is federated: independent relay servers exchange messages, and anyone can run their own relay with a ready-made script and still talk to everyone else. Relays are designed around sealed sender and metadata minimization, so a server learns as little as possible about who talks to whom.

Morok also includes Morok Mail — a private email address (@morok.email) inside the app, with aliases you can pause or permanently kill, mail stored on your device, and end-to-end encryption between Morok users.

Available on Android (Google Play), Windows and the web. The web client is open source (MIT). Currently in open beta.
