What is Monitor Glue?

macOS forgets your window layout whenever you switch monitors: unplug, and every window piles onto the laptop screen; plug back in, and nothing goes back. Monitor Glue is a free, open-source menu-bar app that remembers where each window lives — separately for every monitor you use — and restores the right monitor, position and size automatically the moment you reconnect.

There's nothing to set up and no layouts to save by hand. It restores when you plug in, open the lid, wake the Mac, or unlock it. It leaves alone any window you've moved to the laptop on purpose, and it copes with apps that won't accept certain sizes.

No network access, no analytics, no account. Signed and notarized by Apple. Install with brew install --cask erango/tap/monitor-glue or download from GitHub.
