What is Mluva?

Mluva is an open-source dictation and rewriting application for the Omarchy Linux desktop. Press F9 to record a thought, review the recognized text, and turn it into a polished paragraph, structured note or task draft. The original and rewritten text remain editable, while raw recognition is kept separately.

The GTK4/Libadwaita workspace includes searchable conversation history and Markdown or JSON export. A Quickshell widget follows the desktop theme and can stay available across workspaces. Completed text goes to the clipboard by default; automatic insertion is optional and off by default.

Speech recognition and rewriting are configured independently. Speech options include a managed local model, ElevenLabs Scribe and compatible APIs. Rewriting can use the native Codex app-server or a LiteLLM/OpenAI-compatible provider. Cloud providers require your own credentials and may charge for use; the full workflow is not necessarily offline.

Mluva is free software released under Apache-2.0. Omarchy Quattro is the maintained and tested target. Fedora GNOME compatibility remains in the code but has not been recently tested.
