Miranda is the best ICQ/jabber/etc client for Windows I have checked so far. The original program's interface is a little bit hardcrorish but there are numerous subprojects with (I guess) more appeling looks (and extended functionality as well); the one that I prefer is HotCoffee (http://code.google.com/p/hotcoffee/ )

  • Does not support OTR messages on default
  • Does not support Audio/Video calls on default (I am not sure if there is any addon for it, i don't care, it must be a default feature, without these a messenger program is a piece of #HIT like this one ! )
  • You can not download addons (they begging for money, server issues they say.... that's a LIE ...why are they not sharing these addons through torrent... oh wait, that is free ... LIARS!)

DO NOT SUPPORT LIARS!!!

They think you are stupid & they figured out a way to begging for money. Stay away from it, it is worse than a MALWARE try jitsi instead of this joke!

Using it as my client for jabber. Works great. Had no troubles with OTR installing btw.

To start with Miranda IM you can use a ready to use package. Many are available from http://www.miranda-vi.org/packs/. For the German speaking the Fusion package (http://www.miranda-fusion.de/) is a very good package. You may also build your own package at http://www.miranda-wizard.com/.
