What is Midframe?

Midframe is an mpv-based player that generates in-between frames while you watch, instead of converting your files.

It runs RIFE on NVIDIA TensorRT, so a 24 fps film plays at 48, 72 or 144 fps and a 30 fps YouTube video plays at 60, with nothing downloaded or re-encoded. Each RIFE engine is benchmarked once on your GPU and the player picks the best level it can sustain per video, stepping down instead of dropping frames. Anime is handled faithfully by default.

Built on mpv, VapourSynth, vs-mlrt, uosc and yt-dlp. MIT licensed. Requires Windows 10/11 and an NVIDIA RTX 20-series or newer.
