What is MiaoYan?

MiaoYan is a native Markdown notes app for macOS, written in Swift. Notes are plain .md files in a folder you choose, so they work with iCloud Drive, Dropbox or any other folder sync, and with other Markdown editors.

It has a source editor with a split, scroll-synced preview, LaTeX math with KaTeX, Mermaid, PlantUML and Markmap diagrams, wikilinks with backlinks, per-note version history, auto-formatting, HTML, PDF and image export, slides from --- separators, and a command-line tool, miao.

The Mac app is free and open source under the MIT licence. iPhone and iPad apps are on the App Store.
