Mendbird checks any website for known security flaws, a lapsing domain, slow pages and email that lands in spam, then tells you in plain English what to ask your developer.

What is Mendbird?

Mendbird is a free check for your website, written for the business owner rather than the developer.

Type in your address and in about ten seconds you get a report in plain English: what is wrong, how serious it is, and the exact question to ask whoever looks after your site.

It looks for:

  • known security flaws in WordPress, plugins, themes, PHP and other software, checked against the public lists of flaws every day
  • a domain or padlock (SSL certificate) about to run out
  • slow pages, sites that don't fit a phone, and anything telling Google to stay away
  • email set up so it lands in spam (SPF and DMARC), and tracking that starts before visitors say yes

Every finding goes in one of four jars: Dangerous, Major, Minor or Advisory, so you know what to fix this week and what can wait.

The check is free and needs no sign-up. It never logs in, never tries to break in and never changes anything. For £9 a month, Mendbird checks your site again every morning and emails you the day something new puts it at risk. An optional helper for WordPress, Laravel and other sites reads exact versions from the inside. Agencies can watch 25 client sites for £49 a month with their own logo on the reports.
