What is MailProbe?

MailProbe is a real-time email verification REST API for developers and marketers who need to clean their lists before sending campaigns or accepting new signups.

Each verification runs four sequential checks: RFC-compliant syntax validation, DNS MX lookup to confirm the domain accepts mail, a live SMTP handshake to verify the mailbox exists (no email is ever sent), and categorization across disposable providers (5,000+ domains tracked), role-based addresses, free providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and catch-all configurations. Results are returned as a structured JSON response, ready to plug into your signup flow, CRM cleanup pipeline, or pre-send deliverability check.

Pricing is straightforward and positioned 3 to 4× cheaper than the established leaders: $5 for 1,000 verifications (Starter) or $20 for 10,000 (Pro). No subscription, no monthly minimum, credits never expire. New accounts get 100 free credits on signup — enough to run a real test against your actual data before paying anything.

Authentication is passwordless: a magic link is sent to your email, and the API uses a single bearer token you generate from the dashboard. The batch endpoint accepts up to 500 emails per request, with atomic credit deduction and automatic refunds on failure.

Privacy by design: MailProbe never stores or caches verification results. Your email lists are processed in-memory and immediately discarded — a deliberate engineering choice to comply with GDPR and avoid the data retention practices common in this industry.
