The service is designed to be funded by advertising instead.

Nobody can send you a message without a like from both sides, so there are no unsolicited messages.

Loviam runs in the browser and installs from it as a progressive web app, so there is nothing to download from a store. Profiles are verified by email, bot detection runs in the background without intrusive identity checks, chat is real time, and the interface is available in French and English.

The app is rolled out city by city and started with Lyon and Grenoble, so the community is still small. That is stated plainly on the site rather than hidden behind fabricated profiles.
