What is Lockout?

Lockout is a free, open-source Android application that blocks distracting apps during focus sessions so you can work, study, or disconnect without interruptions.

When a session is started, Lockout runs a background service on your device using Android Usage Access to detect and display a blocking screen whenever a restricted app is opened.

Key Features:

  • Focus Sessions: Set a countdown timer or use open-ended mode to track your focus time.
  • App Blocker: Choose exactly which apps to block during active sessions.
  • Scheduled Routines: Set recurring daily schedules that automatically start focus sessions and block apps at specific times.
  • Strict Mode: Option to lock the session and prevent ending or leaving early until the timer finishes.
  • Streaks & History: Track your completed sessions, daily focus minutes, and consistency streaks.
  • Theme Customization: Earn in-app coins for completed focus minutes to unlock different visual themes.

Privacy & Offline-First:

  • 100% free with no subscriptions, paywalls, or advertisements.
  • No account or sign-up required.
  • Works completely offline. All session data, routines, and blocklists are stored locally on your device.
  • Fully open source under the GPL-3.0 license.
