What is localscreenshot?

localscreenshot is a software that converts public web pages into images or PDFs. It can remove unnecessary elements like cookie banners, ads, and chat widgets. The software can take captures from 227 different countries, useful for websites that display varying content based on location. If a capture cannot be obtained from the requested country, no charge is applied.

localscreenshot offers thirty customization options including capturing the full page or visible area only, using presets for different devices, selecting an element by CSS selector, choosing a theme, setting a language and time zone, and scaling the image. The software can handle JavaScript pages by running the browser before capturing the image.

Access to localscreenshot is possible through a REST API, a remote MCP server, and a command line client. The REST API allows one image per request and includes idempotency keys for safe retries. The remote MCP server enables AI assistants to take screenshots, and the command line client is released under the MIT licence.

New accounts are given 50 free credits, and no charge is applied for failed captures. Free credits have a limit of 10 requests per minute and 2 concurrent captures.
