Best way to develop a WordPress website on your computer.
The claim that Local by FlyWheel is available for free is false and misleading. I downloaded their half a GB sized software, most of which is just a custom Virtual Box VM. Not only did it stutter and failed to install properly on my Window 7 64 bit computer system, but when launched, it just redirected to their website, where I was made to jump through various hoops which ultimately ended up at.... their payment gateway!
I backed away and tried to hunt for the free option to work with WP on my own computer i.e. not hosted somewhere - couldn't find any, neither on their website nor in their knowledge-base.
Now I'm not claiming that I made an exhaustive search. But that is exactly my point - the duplicitousness of this company in dangling the carrot of free to lure people then harvesting their e-mails and what-not. And making the free product so difficult to find that technically they can't be called liars but it'd be out of reach of all but the doggedest pursuers.
Recommendation: Avoid like the plague. Instead go for Instant WP - a totally honest offering.

Nifty idea, but I've run into a few blocking issues trying to use it on a Windows 10 system.
Easy wordpress development workflow. it's possible access to single container via ssh and install other app like wordmove. Bellissimo!
