LJ's current management (Rambler, which is owned by Sberbank, russian national bank) is internationally sanctioned. therefore, no financial transactions from sanctioning states can be processed. so if you're living in a nation not allied to russia, they can't make money...

LJ's current management (Rambler, which is owned by Sberbank, russian national bank) is internationally sanctioned. therefore, no financial transactions from sanctioning states can be processed. so if you're living in a nation not allied to russia, they can't make money off you. even more, those who willingly (citizens) or unwillingly (occupied territories, or in result of deportation) live inside of what russia considers "russian territory" should link their account to the bank to continue using the service. EDIT: info correction + stupid typos :S
