Little Stream Detector information
What is Little Stream Detector?
Little Stream Detector (LSD) 2.0 is a lightweight and portable video stream analyzer for Windows.
LSD performs native Native Matroska, WebM, MP4, M4V, MOV parsing and native AVC/H.264, HEVC/H.265 and AV1 bitstream analysis. It provides frame-level QP/DRF statistics, DRF distribution, GOP and I/P/B frame analysis, bitrate profiles, stream metadata, and detailed diagnostic reports.
The application does not use FFmpeg, FFprobe, MediaInfo, or other external multimedia tools. Video files are read and analyzed without decoding, modification, or transcoding.
LSD is available as a standalone executable and as an auditable PowerShell source script under the GPL-3.0 license.
Features:
- Native Matroska, WebM, MP4, M4V, and MOV parsing
- H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC and AV1 analysis
- I, P, and B picture detection
- GOP structure and bitrate profile
- Native frame-level AVC and HEVC SliceQPY/DRF analysis
- DRF distribution histogram
- Video and audio stream information
- Summary, Streams, JSON, and Log views
- File selection and drag-and-drop support
LSD focuses on stream inspection and encoder behavior analysis rather than visual quality comparison. It does not require access to the original source video.
