What is Limbo PC Emulator?

Limbo PC Emulator is a qemu-based emulator for Android devices that emulates the Intel x86 architecture. This allows users to run a full desktop computer on their Android device and install various x86-compatible systems like FreeDOS, Windows, KolibriOS, and several GNU/Linux distributions.

The emulator can run DSL Linux and apps like terminal, ssh, X Server, ftp, vnc, samba, vpn, mysql clients, gcc, java, perl, and python. It has customizable settings like RAM availability, number of emulated cores, CPU type, and the ability to mount hard-drive and CD-ROM images. Users can also choose the type of emulated graphics, network, and audio card.

The emulator has an inbuilt VNC viewer and SDL mode for accessing the emulated desktop. Users can also use external VNC connections through com.coboltforge.dontmind.multivnc or android.androidVNC clients, available in F-Droid. For Android devices with an x86-based CPU, such as Intel Atom, the emulator can operate in KVM mode for improved performance.
