What is Late-Edition?

Late Edition is a free, open-source desktop application for Windows, macOS and Linux. You brief it with a topic, or point it at sources you choose (RSS feeds, a GitHub repository, a web page, a folder, a calendar), and it runs the AI agent already installed and signed in on your machine as a small newsroom: a researcher gathers sources, reporters file competing angles, an editor picks the line, and a copy desk removes any claim that cannot be traced to a source. The result is a briefing laid out as a newspaper, with every claim footnoted, in any of eleven house styles from broadsheet to newsletter to plain bullet points. Everything runs locally: no account, no server, no data leaves the machine except requests to the sources you configured and the AI provider you already use. Editions are plain Markdown and HTML files. Licensed under the AGPL-3.0.
