Comments and Reviews
It is quite sad to see that no real alternative to Last.fm has appeared since its gradual decline started around 2008 or so. It was THE ultimate social network for music geeks, and nothing has really replaced that aspect.
I'm happy that Spotify still supports scrobbling though so I can keep maintaining my Last.fm music profile. 14 years and counting.
Last FM is amazing, old school type of recording your stream with perfection, high velocity and never is down.
if this site ever goes down i will be lost and truly devastated 💔
Top audioscrobbler. I love the recommendations I get from their community database.
I don't really care about the stats, or the followers thing. To me the recommendation system is the single most interesting feature of this site, and it works reasonably well. Sadly, there's nothing you can do to manually tune these recommendations. You cannot exclude artists, or hide tracks you've already listened to.
Also, and this is a bit inexcusable given how old the site is, artists are still not handled properly. Tracks tagged with multiple artists will often not be recognized. MusicBrainz tagging conventions, like putting featured artists in the artist tag and not the track title, are not supported either. And worst of all, Last.fm apparently still can't make a difference between homonyms.
I have had my account since May 2010 and I still use it today. You listen to one good artist and thanks to the algorithm you get to know more and more and more... Something beautiful!
Love this place!
