What is LANORA?

LANORA (Local Area Network Observation & Risk Assessment) is a free and open-source network scanner for home and small-office Windows users. It discovers the devices on your network, checks which ports they have open and explains the risks in plain language. Everything runs locally on your own computer: the interface listens only on 127.0.0.1 and no scan data is sent anywhere.

Features:

  • Device discovery with ICMP, the ARP neighbor table and limited TCP evidence, plus offline vendor lookup (IEEE OUI)
  • Port and service scanning with Quick, Standard and Custom profiles, including HTTP, TLS and banner evidence
  • Network security indicator: a 0-100 score with every finding explained (what was observed, what it means, what to do, how to verify it)
  • Network map, scan history and comparison between scans
  • Advanced scan with nothing extra to install: hostname and external targets (after you confirm you are authorized), native UDP service probes, traceroute, reverse DNS device names, operating system estimates and safe service checks
  • PDF and Excel reports
  • English, German and Turkish interface, reports and guide

Installs per user without administrator rights, or runs as a portable app. No account, no cloud and no telemetry. Requires Windows 10 or 11 (x64).
