What is KinKudos?
KinKudos is an open-source, self-hosted family task and reward system designed to help children turn everyday responsibilities into visible progress. Parents can create tasks, review completed work, award points, manage rewards, set savings goals, give bonuses or penalties, and keep a clear history of each child’s points. Children get their own simple PIN-protected space where they can see available tasks, submit completed work, track their balance and goals, and request rewards. KinKudos also includes optional features such as point gifts, birthday awards and scratch tickets, which parents can enable or disable depending on how they want to use the system. The application is built as a mobile-friendly PWA and can be installed on phones and tablets without requiring a native app. It is designed for a single family and runs on your own server, so family data stays under your control rather than being stored in a third-party SaaS service. KinKudos is free and open source. It can be self-hosted with Docker, with guided installation options available for users who prefer a simpler setup.
