What is KindMind Journal?

KindMind is a private online journal independently owned since 2015. It runs in a web browser and uses a minimal editor built around one continuous page. The journal is free, with unlimited entries, dark mode, data export, and cross-device access. There are no ads.

Journal entries are encrypted on the user’s device before account storage. KindMind’s storage system does not hold the unlocked encryption key. Users can download a self-contained HTML backup and open it locally with their password or recovery key.

An optional Plus subscription adds AI Guide and guided multi-day Paths. Plus costs $12 per month or $72 per year. Content sent for AI processing passes in readable form through KindMind’s systems to Anthropic. Journal memory is opt-in.
