What is KanjiWidget?
KanjiWidget is a free, open-source Windows app that keeps Japanese study cards quietly visible on the desktop. It includes built-in JLPT N5 and N4 decks, usage examples with furigana, active-recall display modes, and FSRS-based Anki-style reviews.
Users can import .apkg decks without media, create and edit custom cards, search large decks, and export cards for the Windows lock-screen slideshow. The app works fully offline, stores settings and progress locally, and includes no accounts, advertising, analytics, or telemetry. The interface is available in English and Russian.
