Hoard information
What is Hoard?
Hoard is an open-source game save manager and backup tool for Windows, Linux, macOS, and Steam Deck. It automatically detects supported games, monitors save files, and creates versioned snapshots after you play. If a save is corrupted, overwritten, or lost, Hoard lets you restore an earlier version instead of starting over.
Hoard is more than basic game save synchronization. It provides automatic game save backup, cross-device sync, rollback, file version history, SHA-256 integrity verification, and content-addressed deduplication. Back up to Hoard Cloud or run your own hoard-server for private, self-hosted storage without vendor lock-in.
A headless command-line client supports NAS devices, home servers, remote machines, and Steam Deck. Hoard is a free and open-source alternative to Steam Cloud and other game save backup tools, released under the AGPL-3.0 license. Hoard Cloud includes a free tier with optional Pro storage.
