What is Helix (Data Analysis)?

Helix is a free, open-source and private alternative to GraphPad Prism for macOS, made by a scientist for scientists.

Everything starts with a table. Pick the one that fits your data (Column, XY, Grouped, Multiple Variables or Contingency), paste your numbers straight from Excel or Numbers, and Helix builds the analyses and graphs around it. Change a value, and every result and figure updates on its own.

The statistics come from R, the reference in the field, running inside the app. Guided assistants ask the right questions and pick the right test for you: t tests, ANOVA, non-parametric tests, two-way ANOVA, correlation, linear and nonlinear regression (dose-response, 4PL), chi-square and Fisher's exact test, and outlier detection.

The graphs are ready for a paper: box and violin plots, dose-response curves, Kaplan-Meier survival curves, heatmaps, and volcano plots that handle tens of thousands of genes, with significance stars drawn straight from your analyses. Set exact sizes, then export as PNG (300 dpi), SVG or JPG.

Your data never leave your Mac: no account, no cloud, no telemetry. Projects are saved as plain JSON, so they stay readable with or without Helix.
