Hauptwerk information
What is Hauptwerk?
Hauptwerk is a virtual pipe organ software developed by Milan Digital Audio. It uses high-resolution audio samples recorded from real pipe organs around the world to simulate the experience of playing a pipe organ on a computer. Users connect MIDI keyboards or organ consoles to play the virtual instruments in real time. The software offers a large library of over 150 third-party sample sets covering classical and theatre organs from different countries and periods. Features include multi-channel audio output, per-pipe voicing control, wind modelling (Advanced Edition), support for multiple display screens, and MIDI recording/playback. A free edition with limited polyphony is available for evaluation. Hauptwerk requires a dedicated computer with sufficient RAM to load the sample sets, which can range from a few hundred megabytes to over 40 GB per organ.
