What is Handy News Reader?

A separate branch of Flym RSS reader, this app is released as free software under GNU GPL license.

No need to use external web browser to read the full text version. Read the entire articles including images, not just the excerpts or headlines.

No ads. Save time reading, without distractions and attention shifting.

Swipe to the left or to the right, or press volume buttons to move between articles. Mark the articles to be read later by tapping the star icon, or put them in Read It Later list. Remove them after finished reading.

Features:

  • Export/import OPML file.
  • Filter articles by keywords or regular expressions, including articles from sites/blogs without RSS.
  • Add keyword to mark articles as favorite when loading new ones (with notification).
  • Collapsible groups of feeds.
  • Limit the number of downloadable images for each article.
  • Download individual images of the article.
  • Detailed description of downloading progress.

It does not synchronize with any online feed readers. Feedly users can export subscribed feeds as OPML file from https://feedly.com/i/opml
