What is hail.so?

Hail is an open-source communication platform for apps and AI agents.

It provides voice, SMS, and email through one API, MCP server, CLI, and Python SDK. You can connect Hail directly to AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients, or use it from your own application.

With Hail, apps and agents can:

  • Make and receive phone calls
  • Send and receive SMS
  • Send and receive email
  • Use real phone numbers in 100+ countries
  • Receive inbound messages and events through webhooks
  • Access call transcripts and communication history
  • Use the same communication infrastructure through MCP, REST API, or CLI

Hail handles the underlying telephony and email infrastructure, so you do not need to integrate separate providers for each communication channel.

It is available as a managed service at hail.so and can also be self-hosted.
