What is Habeas?

Habeas is a free, open-source browser extension that gets your own documents out of services that provide no usable export: supermarket receipts, invoices, card and bank statements, investment records.

Unlike server-side aggregators such as Plaid, Tink or TrueLayer, it never asks for your credentials and never scrapes from someone else's infrastructure. It runs inside your own, already-authenticated browser session, so there is nothing to store and no anti-bot system to defeat — you sign in yourself, MFA included, and the session token lives in memory only.

Everything is local-first. Your documents never leave the browser unless you pick a destination: a download, a local folder, your own Google Drive or Dropbox, WebDAV, S3, or an HTTP endpoint you configure. The project runs no server that sees any document.

Sources are declarative definitions, not code, so there is no remotely-hosted script to trust. A captured session can only ever be replayed to the same registrable domain it came from; crossing domains requires an explicit allow-list and a consent screen. If a service is missing, record mode watches its own API as you browse and drafts the source for you, without programming.

Works today with Carrefour, Dia, IKEA, Decathlon, Leroy Merlin, ING, Openbank, WiZink, CaixaBank Consumer, Financiera El Corte Inglés, Bip&Drive, Pagatelia, Pepe Energy and Pepephone in Spain, plus Amazon, AliExpress, PayPal, Revolut, N26, American Express, Trade Republic, DeGiro, Raisin and Hover.
