GTK+ UVC Viewer does exactly what it says. In the past, this would surely have been viewed as a "simple" interface, we are used to different things today. I for one am happy to see software that makes plenty of options available and foregoes the offering of filters.

This project aims at providing a simple GTK interface for capturing and viewing video from devices supported by the linux UVC driver, although it should also work with any v4l2 compatible device.
The project is based on luvcview for video rendering, but all controls are build using a GTK2 interface.

It works, you can install the PPA, you dont have to compile any tarball guys. Takes videos, pictures. Settings can be changed. no filters that i see but it does what a camera should do. No crashes so i like it so far.
