GRASS is probably harder to use than QGIS. If you need to use a GRASS feature, a correctly installed version of QGIS will probably include GRASS as well, so useful geoprocessing tools, as v.clean, can be easily used (Windows users should use the OSGeo4W bundles, openSUSE users can find good builds looking for Application:Geo OBS repository, though it may be wise to lock well tested packages to prevent update and unexpected breakage).
