What is Graphite?
Graphite is a free, open source vector graphics editor and animation engine, available now in alpha. Get creative with a fully nondestructive editing workflow that combines layer-based compositing with node-based generative design.
Starting life as a vector editor, Graphite is evolving into a generalized, all-in-one graphics toolbox that's built more like a game engine than a conventional creative app. The editor's tools wrap its node graph core, providing user-friendly workflows for vector, raster, and beyond.
Motion graphics, photo editing, digital painting, desktop publishing, and VFX compositing are additional competencies planned on the roadmap to make Graphite a highly versatile content creation tool. Use it immediately in your browser, or soon-to-be-released native Windows, Mac, or Linux desktop app.

Comments and Reviews
Even as early in development as Graphite is, you can already tell that it is set to go places.
The user experience is immediately familiar and friendly if you've ever used similar software before. I found myself diving right into the web app with very little learning curve, and just having fun messing around with the available features.
The node-based, non-destructive nature of basically every action is kind of mind blowing. I cannot wait to see more of Graphite's planned features come out.
To say "keep an eye on this one" feels like an understatement. This is something special.
I've been loving Graphite literally since the first days I heard about it. The first thing that interested me was that it was written in Rust, its license and features. Even now in the alpha version, it has an intuitive interface and is not overloaded. Many tasks in it can be solved in the same way as in proprietary programs, I have experience working in various programs, but sometimes programs are simply overloaded with the interface, everything is minimalistic in Graphite. I am sure this is a promising program that will definitely take its place. I am also pleased with his roadmap, it will be a real harvester for many solutions.
Graphite has high goals, and I hope they reach them. If they succeed in doing what they set out to do, Graphite will become one of the most convenient and revolutionary softwares.
Looks interesting and already has some great features.
It's such a shame that projects like Inkscape
...and this can't co-develop, or work on shared libraries.
I am very excited about this. I love the ability to draw with GUI tools that then are expressed as procedural nodes.
maybe , something like minimal home screen dashboard
The project is very interesting, a procedural node-based two-dimensional editor is really missing. It will also be curious to see how digital painting and drawing tools will be implemented in it. The interface looks nice - really pretty.
That such software is Free and Open Source is simply a marvel. I sincerely wish the developers succeed, will keep a close eye on Graphite, and look forward to the digital painting and drawing tools!
Thank you so much for your hard work!
