What is gilvt?

gilvt is a complete, GPU-rendered terminal for macOS (tabs, splits, true color, the Kitty keyboard protocol, input methods, search) that also understands the coding agents running in it. When Claude Code or Codex runs in a pane, gilvt lists the session in a sidebar by state, puts the ones waiting for approval on top, and sends a notification that takes you to the right pane.

Each turn's commands, file edits and diff are shown in an inspector, and Quick Look renders diffs, Markdown and Mermaid, so most review happens without opening an IDE. Sessions from days ago can be searched and resumed, and agents running over SSH show up too. Free and open source (Apache-2.0), with no telemetry.
