Best "Discord" alternative that exists. Has a self-hosted option. E2EE being implemented soon. Great pricing options for those so inclined. They call it a BETA but the product is ready to go. Used to be an OG GameVox user back in the early 2010's before Discord existed. The current implementation is miles better.
Currently deploying my own self-hosted server on a RPi5 in a week. Can't wait to get started. The only alternative to Discord with a "What We Believe" section I can fully get behind....

What is GameVox?
GameVox is a voice, video, and text chat platform for gaming communities, built by LightSpeed Gaming — a small, independent company with well over a decade of experience in voice communication and game server hosting. Self-funded. No investors, no ads, no data sales.
Voice is end-to-end encrypted (X25519 + NaCl secretbox). No email, phone, or ID required to sign up — pick a username and you're in. Optional email for permanent accounts.
Not built on Electron. No bundled browser engine. The installer is around 10 MB. Native apps on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, plus a web client.
Free servers include 500 MB file uploads, AI voice isolation, screen sharing, an in-game overlay, a soundboard, and full markdown support with tables, task lists, and syntax highlighting. Paid tiers scale up to unlimited members, 1440p 60fps streaming, and 10 GB uploads. One tier covers every member — no stacking user subscriptions on top of server boosts.
Self-hosting is available. Currently in open beta.

Currently deploying my own self-hosted server on a RPi5 in a week. Can't wait to get started. The only alternative to Discord with a "What We Believe" section I can fully get behind. Features are great. Program runs very fast and light. No bloat. Not Electron-based slop. Low bandwidth. Safe. Secure. What more can we ask for?! Open source for open audits? Maybe someday...? You never know. There has to be a will before there is a way. TRY IT NOW!
I'm currently browsing on https://gamevox.com/ and it seems pretty alive for an app you classify as discontinued and "web site or app is no longer available" - just wondering if the are "back" in the game or if I just surf on a phishing site using https ? :O
Hey, we are definitely back and are being actively developed. - H
