What is FSB?

FSB is an open source (MIT) Chrome extension plus MCP server that lets any MCP client, such as Claude Code, Cursor, Cline or Codex, control your own signed in Chrome. Instead of screenshots it reads the live DOM, so agents act on real elements in the tabs and sessions you already have.

The MCP server (npm package fsb-mcp-server) runs locally over stdio and talks to the FSB extension in your Chrome. No API key is needed. It exposes about 72 tools for navigation, clicking, typing, reading pages, tabs and forms, plus session replay and an encrypted credential vault.

It works as a local alternative to Playwright MCP, Browserbase and browser-use when you want the agent to use your real browser profile instead of a fresh headless one.
