What is Frutjam?

Frutjam is a free, open-source component library for Tailwind CSS v4. It ships 65+ production-ready UI components — buttons, modals, drawers, accordions, tables, forms and more — that work with pure HTML and CSS, with no JavaScript framework or runtime.

Components are built on native browser features: <dialog> for modals, <details> for accordions, the Popover API for dropdowns, and CSS anchor positioning for placement. That means no layout shift, no hydration and no re-initialisation when your server swaps HTML.

Every colour pair is hand-tuned in OKLCH to meet WCAG AA contrast on all six built-in themes, and right-to-left languages are supported without overrides. Because it is plain CSS, the same markup works in Django templates, Laravel Blade, Rails ERB, HTMX responses, React JSX or static HTML.

Frutjam also ships Cherry, a free MCP server that gives AI coding assistants accurate, up-to-date access to the component documentation.
