What is FreeOTP+?

FreeOTP+ is a fork of FreeOTP, featuring an updated user interface and the added ability to backup and restore data. This can either be achieved through external files or by utilizing the built-in Android backup and restore functions.

In addition to the core functionality of FreeOTP established by RedHat, FreeOTP+ includes a range of enhancements. These include the ability to export and import settings to and from Google Drive or other document providers, significant stability improvements, and compatibility with Android 6.0 permissions. The user interface has been updated with a material design and supports a dark theme. A search bar has been added to facilitate token location, and additional token details are provided to enhance interoperability with other applications. The software also leverages modern camera hardware to expedite QR code scanning. Furthermore, FreeOTP+ offers the option to necessitate Biometric or PIN authentication for app access, a heuristic-based offline icon for tokens of over 250 websites, and an expanded range of settings to customize app functionality.
