Folderhug is a self-hosted file explorer for existing HTTP directory listings, such as a seedbox's download folder. Add your sources, browse and search their folders, preview supported media, and download files to your browser or server. Folderhug leaves the source files unchanged.
Switch between list and grid views, filter the current folder, pin folders, or run bounded scans to search subfolders. Image thumbnails are built in. Audio and video playback uses your browser and depends on the file's codec. Server downloads run in a persistent queue, with progress and job controls.
An authenticated API supports browsing, scans, indexed search, JSON or CSV exports, file streaming, and server download jobs. API tokens can be limited to selected source profiles and permissions.
Folderhug runs as a single Docker container and is free and open source under the MIT license. It supports standard Apache and nginx directory listings and has one owner account. It does not support uploads, source file renaming or deletion, public sharing, or transcoding.
