before using it , it was detected as a trojan ( i'm talking about the portable version of windows) , making it on virustotal , more than 10 antivirus detected the same threat; seems suspecious, maybe it's just a good software because it's a spyware afterall..

This is a great program. Makes ToDo lists very orderly. Use the automated add-a-date or choose a title of your own and make numbers of lists. Very well-structured, easy to edit, and does auto-save by default. I love Flowkeeper as my first-level informal journal/to-do list. Though more than one instance can be run, it's better to keep it as one-instance to avoid loss of auto-saved info. You can rearrange to-do items. Edit 9/2025 All perfect! Many thanks to author! :-) For my next level, more...

Thanks for the kind words and for using Flowkeeper! To address your feedback -- in the latest version you can rearrange anything you see on the screen, and move work items between backlogs. I'd like to understand better what you mean by "timer items can't be collapsed" -- will appreciate if you can rephrase it for me, so that I can improve it in an upcoming version.

Hello, Flowkeeper author here. I'm sorry to read about this issue and would like to address it.
Tl;dr -- Flowkeeper is safe. Please try the installer instead (it doesn't require admin rights), or let me know what antivirus software you have, so that I can submit it as false positive and you can retry. I'm working on reducing the number of AV false positives for the upcoming versions.
This unfortunately happens due to various AV tools incorrectly detecting desktop Python apps compiled using Nuitka as malware. It's a known issue: https://nuitka.net/user-documentation/common-issue-solutions.html#windows-virus-scanners
To make it more transparent for the users, I went into great length automating AV scans for Flowkeeper. If you go into flowkeeper.org Downloads Windows, and click "More..." you'll see VirusTotal scan results, which are updated every night. Also, all Flowkeeper binaries are signed with an Extended Validation certificate from Sectigo, but unfortunately this doesn't help with AV tools :(
The entire building process is fully transparent and is available in Flowkeeper's GitHub repository. Anyone can trace and audit the entire supply chain from source code to setup.exe on the website.
[rant]I used to spend significant amount of time on submitting Flowkeeper EXEs to all AV vendors as false positives. Unfortunately, it is very time consuming and less than half of all vendors handle such submissions at all. So at this stage I only care about Microsoft Defender. If it flags Flowkeeper as malware -- I receive a notification and submit it to Microsoft for review.[/rant]
In the next version I will use some compiler flags to reduce the risk of it being recognized as malware. I keep my fingers crossed that it will improve the situation, but in the meantime the only thing I can recommend you is to try another type of download, for example the Installer, which has only two false positives on VirusTotal. I'd love to hear your opinion about the actual tool, once you try it :)

I'd like to follow up on this issue. I've just released Flowkeeper v1.0.1, which is compiled using Clang compiler instead of GCC. This results in no false positives according to VirusTotal. I do hope that this puts an end to this annoying issue. Thanks for using Flowkeeper!
