Synfig is way complex - anyone putting that as an alternative to Flipaclip is just loose a screw or four. Flipaclip has one of the easiest to use interfaces around and Synfig.... just doesn't.

As simple as Flipaclip and has some more advanced functions if desired, but they don't get in the way of it being easy to navigate.
