FlickerTalk is a private messenger: texts, photos and files, voice messages, and voice and video calls between two people, plus circles, small closed groups of up to 32 people for text.
There is no account and no phone number. You add someone by scanning their code or opening the link they share; there is no directory of users. Your chat history stays on your phone, not on our servers. Messages travel directly between phones when possible, end-to-end encrypted. If the other phone is offline, an optional mailbox holds your message end-to-end encrypted until it is picked up, or for 7 days at most; it can be turned off.
During a call you can present a whiteboard or a PDF. Tools and games open inside the chat from the Apps tab, and a Translator can translate messages on the phone; each tool runs in isolation and gets only what you allow it.
Limits: during a direct connection the other phone can see your public IP address, and Google or Apple deliver the wake-up notification, so they see that one arrived and when.
The app is free to use; the tools and extra PIN-protected sessions are an optional Premium subscription, with a 15-day trial. The app and server source code are public under the AGPL-3.0 licence.
