What is FinchGram?

FinchGram is an unofficial Telegram desktop client for macOS on Apple silicon. It is implemented in Rust with Slint and communicates with Telegram through TDLib. The client supports Telegram folders, chat and message search, media, notifications, themes, QR-code or phone-number login, and application updates from GitHub Releases.

It includes an in-chat screenshot tool for capturing and annotating windows or screen selections, plus a read-only WebDAV downloads page for browsing and retrieving files from user-configured servers. FinchGram can also act as a local Model Context Protocol server, allowing authorized AI-assistant applications to read selected chats or perform permitted actions through the running client. Secret chats are excluded from this access.
