FileZilla Server, sister product to FileZilla Client, is an FTP server that supports FTP and FTP over SSL/TLS. FTP over SSL/TLS provides secure encrypted connections to the server.
FileZilla Server supports FTP and FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS). It includes numerous functionalities, including:

Support for SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) is not implemented in Filezilla Server.

Whenever I needed to setup a quick FTP server for LAN use I'd turn to FileZilla Server. Unfortunately, the default download seems to be the SourceForge Installer which pushes browser add-ons and other software that the user didn't come to get. I can not longer recommend FileZilla because of this.

seems to be a good and fast ftp server BUT. the devs seems to ignore the issues . especially the one where hidden folders are shown and there aren't any options for it. they say its because off Filezilla is using windows settings for this. but that is BS. even with this settings sett to hide files, they are shown when accessing the ftp server. Also they are saying that you aren't supposed to share root drive folder off your drives like e:\ rather use e:\folderhere . witch also is really bad design if you ask me. So if this matter to you as it does for me. i would recommend to find something else that is better designed and have better minded devs.

Kind of a bummer, but they dropped support for Windows XP and Server 2003 almost a year ago. Server 2003 was still supported by Microsoft then.
FileZilla Server was added to AlternativeTo by Ola on Jun 24, 2009 and this page was last updated Mar 11, 2021. FileZilla Server is sometimes referred to as FileZilla, FZ Server.
We are using it almost every day with WinSCP.
It is reliable, easy to setup and secure.
