What is Filesight?
FileSight is a self-hosted file sharing platform designed for small and medium businesses that need document control without the complexity of enterprise software. Unlike SaaS tools like Dropbox Business or SharePoint, FileSight runs entirely on your own AWS infrastructure. You deploy it as an AMI into your AWS account — your files stay on your servers, in your S3 bucket, under your control. Key capabilities:
User-based sharing: long-term folder collaboration for internal teams
- Link-based sharing: expiring download links for external clients, no login required
- 50+ file format previews (PDFs, Office documents, CAD files, images, and more)
- ZIP download of entire folders
- Email invitations for external users
- Automatic SSL via Let's Encrypt
- Brute-force protection on all authentication endpoints
- White-label support: your domain, your logo
- S3-compatible storage backend
Deployment: Available as an AWS AMI via AWS Marketplace. Instance-based pricing — no per-user fees. Best for: SMBs (5–100 users), consultants, engineering firms, accounting studios, legal teams.
