- shazmataz reviewed Fennec F-Droid
I like Fennec F-Droid and it's my default browser. It's essentially a build of Firefox for Android that's been stripped on Mozilla branding and telemetry, but still close to the original release. Tried IronFox (fork of Mull) for its privacy-centric approach but struggled with instability. However, I will need to review this given the recent ToS changes by Mozilla.

F-Droid Fennec is the best fork of Android's Firefox, the F-Droid developers have made a great job removing most of the proprietary code they could.
Unfortunately it is not perfect just because of Quantum's eyes killer white GUI. Cannot apply Swift Black (Substratum theme) on this, because the package is named differently from the official Firefox...
Now they updated it on fdroid and it's fenix now

The best browser today, as I write this, is the Mull. Unfortunately, DivestOS has closed its projects and Mull was one of them. Until some fork of Mull or another better one comes along, Fennec will be my first choice of browser on Android.
Firefox for F-Droid.
Because it is Firefox Android but Open Source, without telemetry except for crash (you can disable it at about:config and write "telemetry", also it is good to search to "auto connection" at Mozilla Firefox PC version for see by your own way how to disable auto updates. Also it is on F-droid, with the add-ons of "normal Firefox Android" and security updates week to week by Mozilla, so very good option.
Being someone that has extremely little knowledge about all this stuff, with that said. How is this browser " Private"? Specially when it's stated that the browser records and tracks, well basically everything you do while using it. So I don't recommend it and probably reload Bromite
Every browser tracks everything you do no matter what...
What are you trying to hide...

That's interesting to know addemc, Ty for pointing that out! ... @ iconmarmalade... That response makes no sense...to say the least...that is like some creep following you around with a camera or writing down every move you make, then when you ask them to stop, they reply with, : "What do you have to hide?" Seriously? How 1984 of you. If you don't care or respect privacy, maybe you should put all of your personal info all over the internet and dox yourself, because who cares, right? However, Some of us find that kind of behavior very creepy all together, while some would not be bothered by it, if they got paid for it and could choose the moments when they are being watched lol, but that should be a choice...

See what's track this browser with some app, the trackers are really easy to disable and also you can use Mull if you don't like this Firefox-Android version. It is like every browser, you must config it unless you use a fork like Mull or Bromite or no privacy never. Also it's fake to say that "record everything", it only have sync tracker, secure browsing tracker, crash tracking and debug telemetry, so I don't think it will track everything... Also if you use stock Android it doesn't matter the browser because Google know everything about you.
