Ezina is a garden planning and plant care app for the contiguous United States. It is for anyone growing anything, from a single windowsill Pothos to a full vegetable bed, and its advice starts from the user's address. Every recommendation cites its source.
Dig, the yard planner, pulls the parcel and house footprint for an address and casts shade from the house, trees and fences for every daylight hour of the year. Trees come from a laser survey and aerial photos, and a wrong or missing tree can be fixed by hand. Dig also maps soil, the spots where frost settles first, and where rain runs and gathers. A balcony, patio or single window works too.
In the bed planner, crops are placed with a tap or sown in rows with a drag, and spacing adjusts as you go. Ezina warns when one plant will shade another and shows how the bed helps local wildlife. A finished bed goes onto the calendar as dated plantings, with sowing and transplant dates set from your own frost dates. A house-sitter can open the care calendar from a link without an account.
The native plant checker tests any plant for your county against USDA's record of where it grows wild, the national register of invasive species, and your state's regulated plant list. Plant pages show what pollinates, eats or hosts each plant, and whether it is toxic to cats or dogs.
Watering reminders for pots and beds follow local rain and temperature. Outdoor beds get gallons and a rough time on the hose; indoor groups adjust to the room temperature and humidity you set. A camera light meter suggests houseplants for a window.
Photo identification covers plants, diseases and insects. Up to four photos of a plant go to two independent identification services, and each match is labeled High, Medium or Low with its percentage and whether the plant is native where you live. Diseases and pests lead to more than 300 treatment plans, every step cited and none sponsored.
The garden log keeps watering, treatments, harvests and losses on one timeline, and a life list collects every plant and creature you record. Reminders arrive at the hour you choose, and there are no streaks.
Ezina runs no ads, does not sell user data and takes no outside investment. New accounts get a 14-day trial without a card, then need a subscription. Everything you add can be downloaded at any time.
