What is ExplainStats?

ExplainStats adds 30+ statistical tools to Google Sheets: descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA with Tukey HSD, regression, correlation, chi-square, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, Cronbach's alpha, control charts and sample size.

Its "Which test?" Assistant asks what you want to do, checks normality, outliers and equal variances, then picks and runs the right test and explains why. Every result comes with a classic results table, a chart, a plain-language interpretation and an APA-style line ready to paste into a report.

It works like the classic spreadsheet Analysis ToolPak, but inside Google Sheets, in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. It only accesses the spreadsheet you open it in, and all calculations run inside Google Sheets: no account, no external server.

Free, with Pro tools free for everyone until January 31, 2027. Built for students, teachers, researchers and analysts.
