Accepts a lot of hardware inputs (keyboards, remote controller, etc.). You can create complex macros.
The EventGhost developer quits his work and is looking for new core developers. The site and the forum got adopted by someone and moved to the new domain http://eventghost.net . The old site get closed on 01.03.2011, the old SVN on 01.04.2011, the old website on 01.05.2011.
So, this project is not dead, the community tries to keep EventGhost alive. Let's hope for new core developers soon. :)
Eventghost might be the most under estimated software for htpc. there is virtually nothing you can't do when it comes to controlling your pc.
Love it. Got my PS3 Bluetooth Remote working with alot of programs on my computer. I use it mostly with XBMC.
I use it with my X10 remote control to control foobar, different video players (also for DVB-T), some widgets and system settings and other stuff. There's a big set of macros and plugins to realize everything you want. It's fast, stable, extensive, user-friendly, intuitive... and Open Source. A really nice piece of software.
This is a great free alternative to girder while not quite as powerful as girder..yet, its open architecture allows it to be extended to do pretty much whatever you want.
